“This side has to take it one game at a time and maintain a low profile. We know that we have a good team and a fine Coach in Marco Giampaolo,” the director of sport told Mediaset Premium.
“The Serie A situation is far more balanced now and every incident can prove decisive for the result. We are facing a strong Milan side that dominated the summer transfer market, but we’ll try to use our own strengths.
“This is a match that can tell us what we’re made of. We know that we’re a provincial club, but have to give it our best and want to maintain our unbeaten record.
“Samp are more intensive this season. We raised the level of internal competition for places, so consequently the training sessions are more intense.”
President Massimo Ferrero said Sampdoria were targeting seventh place this season.
