He had already travelled with his new teammates on the train up to Rome for the game, but was not officially in the squad.
Now that he has been formally registered with the Lega Serie A and given international clearance by Arsenal, Ospina is added to the list of players available for selection.
That means the Colombia international could get his Serie A debut against Lazio tonight.
Alex Meret is injured, having fractured a bone in his arm during only his second training session, so Orestis Karnezis is the only other option in goal.
It was because of Meret’s injury that Napoli felt the need to sign Ospina and also why it is only a loan deal, as the club already invested over €22m in the ex-Udinese and SPAL player.
Napoli squad for Lazio: Karnezis, Contini, Marfella, Ospina; Albiol, Chiriches, Hysaj, Koulibaly, Luperto, Malcuit, Mario Rui, Maksimovic; Allan, Diawara, Fabian, Hamsik, Rog, Zielinski; Callejon, Insigne, Mertens, Milik, Ounas, Verdi
