David Ospina has been released from Napoli and was linked with Lazio, but it’s now reported he’ll join Al-Nassr for a bumper payday.
The Colombia international was first choice for the 2021-22 season under coach Luciano Spalletti.
However, with news Alex Meret has agreed a contract extension, it means the Italian will get the gloves in future.
Ospina’s current deal runs out on June 30 and will not be renewed.
He was linked with a possible move to Lazio, where he would reunite with former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri, or a move to Spain with Villarreal.
However, according to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the man who turns 34 in August has agreed terms with Al-Nassr instead.
It is suggested he will earn €3.5m per season for two years in the Saudi Pro League.
Ospina’s previous clubs were Atletico Nacional, OGC Nice, Arsenal and then he joined Napoli in 2018.
The veteran shot-stopper has 124 caps for Colombia.

Absolutely terrible decision by Napoli to choose Meret over Ospina. If you actually watch the games, Ospina is clearly much better than Meret. Even if you don’t watch the games, Ospina stats are much better. With Ospina they have a shot to win the Scudetto, with Meret they have no chance. With Meret and no Koulibaly they won’t even qualify for the conference league.
