Napoli star Victor Osimhen trained alone on Easter, hoping to recover for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Milan on Wednesday, but his return remains uncertain.

The Serie A leading scorer posted a picture from Castel Volturno on Sunday, showing himself on the pitch with his training boots. The striker also wrote: ‘GOD is the greatest.’

His Napoli side visit Milan at San Siro in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday and Osimhen remains in doubt for the match.

The striker suffered a muscle injury while on international duty with Nigeria two weeks ago, missing the following two Serie A matches against Milan and Lecce.

Il Mattino reported on Sunday that Osimhen would not recover in time for the first European meeting against the Rossoneri at San Siro on Wednesday, while Gazzetta maintained that ‘optimism is growing’ although it is too early to predict whether the striker would be available against Milan.

Osimhen has scored 25 goals in 29 appearances this season, including four in five Champions League matches.
