Mocking videos of Victor Osimhen posted on the official Napoli TikTok have sparked widespread controversy, and the club have a history of videos with a similar tone.

The Partenopei decided to post two videos of their Nigerian star on TikTok recently, one seemingly mocking his penalty miss against Bologna and the other comparing him to a coconut.

Osimhen was infuriated with the posts and his agent Roberto Calenda made it clear that he was ready to take legal action in response. Both videos were deleted, not swiftly to the striker’s frustration, but tensions are still high.

TMW highlights how Napoli have regularly posted videos with a seemingly similar mocking tone on their TikTok before, with various players including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Juan Jesus and Mario Rui.

Examples include one of Juan Jesus walking out of the tunnel alongside the caption “the fifth grader who failed for the fourth time enters class”, another showing Kvaratskhelia with an enlarged head reading “my brain when it finds out it has to start training again” and another with Mario Rui on train tracks.

The content has been much criticised by fans and pundits, and many are now calling for the club’s social media manager to face consequences.
