Victor Osimhen had a nightmare in this evening’s trip to Bologna, as first he blasted a penalty off target, then shouted angrily at Napoli coach Rudi Garcia over his substitution.

The Nigeria international has not seemed quite the same as in his Scudetto-winning season and does not appear to have a good rapport with new coach Garcia.

This was laid bare at the Stadio Dall’Ara during a dramatic 0-0 draw that left the reigning champions seven points adrift of leaders Inter just five rounds into the campaign.

Osimhen was unlucky in the first half when his strike cannoned off the inside of the far post, with the aid of a Lukasz Skorupski fingertip, but he then wasted their best chance to win when firing a penalty off target at the 73rd minute.

The situation got worse when Napoli fans in the stadium loudly jeered Garcia for his decisions, first to take off Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, then substituting Osimhen with Giovanni Simeone at the 86th minute.

This last pick infuriated Osimhen too, who was visibly angry as he walked off, while DAZN pitchside reporters noted he was shouting at Garcia in French that he wanted ‘two strikers’ to work together in order to get the victory.
