Napoli and Chelsea have reportedly started discussing the idea of a mutually beneficial swap deal involving Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku.

Blues coach Antonio Conte has identified the Belgian striker as one of his top priorities for the summer transfer window, keen to work with the 31-year-old again after their successful working relationship at Inter.

Osimhen looked on track to join Paris Saint-Germain in a transfer worth around €100m and agreed personal terms with the Parisians, but a deal didn’t materialise as the other players involved failed to convince Aurelio De Laurentiis, leaving the Nigerian striker in Campania.

Page 18 of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Napoli and Chelsea have started to consider the idea of some form of swap deal involving Osimhen and Lukaku, allowing them both to resolve their striker problems.

The plans are still in the early stages and there’s already a slight problem as the Blues have set a new salary cap, something which the Partenopei star would break with his lofty wages. Should things develop, it would likely take until the latter stages of the market to be completed.
