Victor Osimhen is one of the key players at Napoli and he looks set to remain part of Luciano Spalletti’s squad as the previously interested Arsenal focus on signing Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus instead.

The 23-year-old Nigerian forward is not considered unsellable by the Partenopei this summer, although Aurelio De Laurentiis would only listen to bids above €100m. Fans have been concerned about losing a number of players this summer and this high price tag gives the club some protection.

As detailed by Calciomercato.com, there are two factors that suggest that Osimhen will remain with Napoli after all, despite rumours of a move in the coming months. The first reason is that Arsenal are working on closing out a deal with Manchester City for Gabriel Jesus, removing them from the race to secure his signature.

The Gunners appeared to be one of the most serious clubs interested in the 23-year-old but now have decided to look elsewhere. The other aspect is time; Napoli’s pre-season training camp is rapidly approaching and with the season starting earlier than usual, a high profile transfer is less likely to come later in the window, so Osimhen seems to be edging closer to confirming his future in Naples.

  1. he’s at the age which he needs to make his move to a big club so at least they can give him 2/3yrs..

Not many clubs in this summer market can purchase him

  2. he is at a big club he dosnt need to move anywhere, hate ppl like your view of football, the entitlement and every good player should play for only 6 clubs in the world, he is happy where he is and he is the best all round forward in the league
