Riccardo Orsolini says he has a “special relationship” with Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, who “knows” how to get a reaction out of him.

The forward scored a brace to send Bologna 3-0 up against Lecce during their 3-2 win on Sunday, and he thanked Mihajlovic for keeping him focused.

“When a player is going through a poor spell, Sinisa doesn’t let the concentration drop,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “He knows where to poke me to get a reaction.

“I am happy with how he manages me. I have a special relationship with him, the disease has connected us even more.”

Orsolini also scored on his debut for Italy in the 9-1 demolition of Armenia last month, and he is happy to continue his development at Bologna.

But the forward also admitted that Mihajlovic was not happy with them letting Lecce back into the game.

“It will take a long time to become a phenomenon,” Orsolini told Sky Sport Italia. “I’m happy with my game, even If we risked something in the end.

“The coach was angry, because we can’t lose concentration like that. We complicate things on our own. We need to close the game immediately.”

There was an incident involving Gary Medel and the returning coach, but the 22-year-old laughed it off.

“Gary was brave to challenge Mihajlovic! They didn’t understand each other and, inside the dressing room, they clarified everything and shook hands.

“For me, Mihajlovic is a special person. He knows how to handle me. I do everything he tells me and I simply follow his directions.”
