When it was still 0-0, Cesar Azpilicueta seemed to tug back Yannick Carrasco on the edge of the penalty area, with the ball equidistant between his feet and the goalkeeper.
Italian referee Orsato waved play on and the incident was not viewed again on VAR, with his fellow Italian Massimiliano Irrati in the booth.
Moments later, Chelsea took the lead with a counter-attack, giving them a 2-0 aggregate lead.
