Lazio’s second goal against the Rossoneri caused a great deal of controversy last night and the newspaper reports referee Orsato was ‘almost annoyed’ by the call from VAR.

The most discussed episode of Serie A Week 33 was when Lucas Leiva seemed to foul Hakan Calhanoglu, but the referee confirmed the decision taken on the pitch and validated the goal, even after having seen the replay on the monitor.

La Gazzetta dello Sport writes Orsato ‘demonstrated he was almost annoyed by Paolo Mazzoleni’s call to the VAR’ and claims ‘Leiva clearly takes the foot of Calhanoglu but the referee confirms the decision and gave the goal’.

“What is this stuff?”, the referee reportedly said when going watch back the incident, and La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights it’s a ‘clear reference to the call from his colleague who rightly prompted him to review the action’.

Lazio eventually won 3-0 at the Olimpico and Milan dropped down to joint third place with Napoli and Juventus.
