According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Chris Smalling, Tammy Abraham and Leonardo Spinazzola are the only three Roma players who messaged Nicolò Zaniolo after his move to Galatasaray.

The Italy international completed a €29.5m transfer earlier this week, becoming the most expensive signing in Turkey.

He had asked to leave the club in January, snubbing an offer from Bournemouth. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, only Smalling, Abraham and Spinazzola messaged their former teammate after his transfer to Galatasaray was announced.

According to the report, this signals that the 23-year-old was no longer on good terms with most of his teammates after his request to leave the club last month.

Zaniolo scored 24 goals in 128 appearances during his four-and-a-half-year spell at the Stadio Olimpico. He has signed a contract until June 2027 with Galatasaray and has a €35m clause included in his agreement with the Turkish giants.

He picked the No. 17 to honour a 17-year-old Galatasaray fan who died in the earthquake that devastated Turkey on Monday.
