Rafael Leao has been criticised by fans and media this season, but only Vinicius Junior, Son Heung-min and Leroy Sané have better attacking stats than the Milan star so far this season.
Leao scored his first Serie A goal since September on Sunday night, in a 1-1 draw against Atalanta at San Siro. He has netted nine times in 32 games across all competitions this term, providing seven assists.
Leao has often been criticised by fans and media this season for his lack of goals, and some criticism seemed legitimate considering that the ex-Lille striker has only bagged four Serie A goals in 23 games this term.
However, looking at the bigger picture, something different emerges. His seven assists this season, all in Serie A games, mean Leao has contributed to 16 goals for the Rossoneri and only three left wingers in Europe’s top five leagues have been so decisive, according to Milannews.
