Former Milan and Italy wide-man Stefano Eranio believes that Milan can go far under the tutelage of Filippo Inzaghi.

Now 47, Eranio won an impressive array of medals during his career including three Serie A titles, three Italian Super Cups, one Champions League and also the UEFA Super Cup.

For the retired player, his former side Milan’s start to life under their new Coach is both unexpected and pleasant.

“I didn’t expect a start of this kind, even if the Milan squad is of high value,” Eranio has conceded to Calciomercato.com.

“Inzaghi, however, must improve a defence that allows too many goals. [But] Milan can aspire to important objectives.

“The only team I can see on a higher level is, of course, Juve. The Rossoneri are on a par with Roma, then Napoli and then we’ll see about the others.”

Milan’s Week 3 opponents are Juventus.

“It will be a tough match for both teams,” Eranio continued.

“Juventus played in the Champions League and will be tired, while Milan has nothing to lose and has enthusiasm.

“The Bianconeri may have Vidal back, while the Rossoneri can bring back an important player in El Shaarawy.”
