Milan continue to push to sign Sven Botman and according to Sky Sport Italia, the club owners are now involved in negotiations.

Milan must find a replacement for Simon Kjaer, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Fikayo Tomori has also been forced to the sidelines for a month after a keyhole injury on his left knee.

Milan transfer news: Bailly or Tanganga? Maldini waits for Paratici’s green light

They are in talks with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur for Eric Bailly and Japhet Tanganga but would only sign one of them on loan without investing to secure their services permanently.

On the contrary, they are keen to sign Botman on a permanent transfer in January and although Lille are unwilling to sell the star defender in the winter transfer window, Milan are refusing to give up.

Calciomercato.com and Sky Sport Italia report talks between the two parties are still ongoing.

According to the broadcasters, negotiations involve the ‘highest departments’ of both clubs with owners of Lille and Milan now in direct contact, trying to find an agreement.

Merlyn Advisors own Lille and bought the club from Milan owners Elliot in 2020. The two clubs are on good terms, having completed other transfers in the past, such as those of Rafael Leao and Mike Maignan who moved to San Siro from France.

  1. Sign him up now if he’s definitely the one. Even if he stays at Lille for the season, get the deal done early.

  2. Dodgy dealings happening, Lille selling their best players well below market value to Milan!!!

Maignan sold for £12m, worth at least £50m, Leao is a £120m player sold for peanuts and now Botman who is worth £40m gonna go for what, £20m?? INVESTIGATE!!! Elliot are known for their shady deals!

  3. Milan are the best for champion league trophy 7 times no one in the italian league can reach everyone scare if milan have a good team im proud that i reached to see my grande milan im proud

  4. Leao has the potential to maybe someday reach the heights of a £120m player, but to say he was worth anywhere close to that when he joined Milan is as funny as it gets. If anything Milan overpaid for him at the time. Pepe was getting all the attention in Lille back then, and he was sold for like €80m to Arsenal.

Maignan only had a year on his contract and wanted to leave. It was good business by Milan and we actually lost a younger GK in Dollarumma.

Inter have the strongest squad in Italy by far and yet their fans are scared of what Milan might become?
