One-match ban for Zlatan?

Tuttosport claims he could get away with a one-match ban, but the only possibility to completely cancel the red card would be an admission of error by the referee in the report sent to the Sports Judge.

The Sweden international is expected to appeal the red card, as the Rossoneri striker believes the referee misunderstood what he said.

Stefano Pioli told Sky Sport Italia that Zlatan ‘didn’t insult the referee’.

“Zlatan told me he discussed something with the referee for a while, but didn’t show a lack of respect and absolutely didn’t insult him,” Pioli said.

“I haven’t spoken to Maresca, so I don’t know. Zlatan told me the final thing he said was: ‘So you’re not interested in what I have to say?”

Milan picked up three points despite the red card and are still second in Serie A, one point ahead of Juventus, who secured a 3-1 win over Genoa.
