Onana to Man Utd allows Inter to pounce for Lukaku and Sommer

Inter are expected to complete the sale of Andre Onana to Manchester United today, allowing them to move forward for their key transfer targets.

Multiple reports in Italy are confident that the Nerazzurri will sell the Cameroonian shot stopper to the Red Devils before the end of today, in a deal worth around €53-55m total.

The sale of Onana represents an important capital gain for Inter, considering that he arrived on a free transfer last summer. The 27-year-old shined in his first year at the club, keeping eight clean sheets in 13 Champions League matches.

Pages six and seven of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport detail how Inter and Manchester United are now working on completing the Onana deal, which’ll earn the former around €50m plus €3-5m in add-ons.

Once this has been completed, the Nerazzurri will immediately reinvest €6m of this fee into Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer, and some will also be spent on Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin.

The bulk of the earnings, however, will be used to bring back Romelu Lukaku. Inter’s €30m plus add-ons offer failed to convince Chelsea but offering €35m plus add-ons could be enough to find an agreement.
