Andre Onana introduced himself to the Inter fans and suggested that ‘dreams come true’ following his move.
The 26-year-old Cameroonian shot stopper officially joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer earlier today, signing a five-year contract. He’s expected to be the long term replacement for Samir Handanovic, who is likely to be phased out of regular action in the coming season.
Onana commented on his move to Inter on his Twitter page, thanking the staff for helping him to realise his dream.
“Dreams come true. I am thrilled to be joining my new club, Inter!
“I want to thank the president, the entire board of Inter, the coach and my team for making my dream come true.”
Onana previously spent seven years with Ajax after leaving Barcelona’s youth system. During his time in the Netherlands, the Cameroonian goalkeeper made 212 appearances across all competitions, keeping 85 clean sheets and conceding 192 goals.
Simone Inzaghi, his staff and Handanovic will work closely with Onana over the pre-season to get him on board with the 3-5-2 tactical system used in the Lombardy capital.
