Torino continue negotiations with Hellas Verona for Josh Doig, but Gennaro Gattuso’s Olympique Marseille reportedly enter the fray too.

It is no secret that Doig is a target for the Granata and their coach Ivan Juric in the January transfer window.

According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, the asking price is €6m and Toro have not yet reached it.

The big development today is that Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille have dived in with a proposal said to be worth €5m for the Scottish left-back.

The 21-year-old can also play in a more advanced role on the left of midfield, which is where he is required by Torino, or even as a centre-back if required.

Doig was voted Scottish Football Writers’ Young Player of the Year for 2020-21 at Hibernian and made the transfer to Hellas Verona for €3.6m in the summer of 2022.

So far this season, he has made 13 appearances for Verona between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
