The forward has helped his side to fifth in the Serie A table, and is adamant that he’s happy at Marassi.

“Right now I’m hearing rumours and too much talk,” the striker wrote on his official Facebook page.

“Okaka arrived at Sampdoria in February last season, and after working hard with my teammates every day at Bogliasco [Samp’s training ground] and without ever talking about [Serie] A or B at the end of the season I proved to be a good player.

“I already felt like an integral part of this club, and I was spurred on every time you [the Sampdoria fans] called my name or cheered me on.

“At the beginning of this season we’ve gotten our heads down, run lots of kilometres and fought for every ball, and it’s those things which are allowing us to have this fantastic season and this wonderful atmosphere.

“It wouldn’t be right to taint those things with stuff that comes out in the newspapers that isn’t real or concrete.

“Myself and my teammates are giving 1000 out of 1000 for us and for you, and nothing can distract me from fighting game after game to achieve a big dream for everyone.

“I’m always focused on the team, and I’m proud everytime I go home and turn on the tv and see my team so high in the table.”
