Noah Okafor insists Milan ‘believe 101 per cent’ they can turn the Europa League quarter-final around against Roma, despite another stumble in the 3-3 thriller at Sassuolo.
The Swiss international came off the bench and scored the equaliser at the Mapei Stadium with his first touch, after his team had been trailing 2-0 within 10 minutes, then 3-1 down.
“We knew it was not easy to play here. The first 10 minutes were tough, but we came back, we got chances and I think it was a deserved 3-3. It was not a good start, we have to do things better and then we’ll be ready for the next game,” Okafor told DAZN.
This is another setback following the 1-0 home defeat to Roma in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final.
That tie will be decided at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday evening, so does Okafor believe they can turn it around?
“I believe 101 per cent in my team. We have a lot of quality, we have to be focused, recover physically and for sure we’re going to Rome to win, then we’ll see.”
Straight after that clash is another huge fixture, the Derby della Madonnina against rivals Inter, who could win the Scudetto on that day.
“Like I said, we take it one game at a time.”
