Juventus received a boost in their pursuit of Jean-Clair Todibo with news that OGC Nice left him out of their squad for a pre-season friendly against Lecce.

It is absolutely no secret that the defender agreed personal terms and only wants the Bianconeri for the next step in his career, even if West Ham United could be offering more both for the transfer fee and wages.

The 24-year-old is under contract until June 2027, but still widely expected to leave Nice this summer.

Todibo only wants Juventus

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the negotiations are continuing between the two clubs to get a deal over the line.

A strong indication of progress was found in the news he was not called up for the latest pre-season friendly match.

Curiously, that game will be against Serie A side Lecce on Sunday afternoon.

No reason was given for Todibo’s absence from the squad, but it does suggest his move to Juve is closer than ever before.

Tuttomercatoweb maintain Nice are now ready to accept a loan for €5m with option to buy for a further €30m.
