The former Torino boss has been formally appointed to replace Antonio Conte after Euro 2016, signing a two-year contract.
“He is an excellent Coach, especially to deal with a Nazionale that is not particularly brimming with talent,” said the West Ham United defender.

“Ventura has a well-defined style of football, much like Conte, and that will be helpful for an Italy side that needs to get back on its feet.”
Ogbonna’s club teammate Dimitri Payet hit the headlines with his last-minute winner for France against Romania on Friday.
“I know him well and had no doubts about his quality. He manages to unite technique with pace and I am happy he has been able to prove that at international level too.”
