Serie A target Timo Werner has officially moved to Chelsea, who signed the RB Leipzig forward by triggering the release clause in his contract.

The 24-year-old has come to an agreement with the Blues and will move after the Bundesliga has been concluded, only subject to a medical at Stamford Bridge.

Werner, who has scored 32 goals in 43 games this term, was pleased with the move to London and told the club’s website: “I’m delighted to be signing for Chelsea, it’s a very proud moment for me to be joining this great club.
