Newly promoted Serie A side Venezia have officially appointed Eusebio Di Francesco as their new head coach.
Former Frosinone and Roma coach Di Francesco has signed a two-year contract with Venezia, the Lagunari said in an official statement on Wednesday.
“Venezia FC announces that it has appointed Eusebio Di Francesco as coach of the first team. Di Francesco has signed a two-year contract until the end of the 2025/26 season,” the statement reads.
“Born in Pescara, Di Francesco has a rich playing career behind him, in which he earned 13 appearances and one goal with Italy’s senior national team, winning the Scudetto with Roma and totaling 252 Serie A appearances and 96 Serie B appearances.
“Fifty-five years old yet to turn, Di Francesco boasts promotions in Serie B with Pescara and in Serie A with Sassuolo in his coaching career, as well as a historic UEFA Europa League qualification with Sassuolo in the 2015/16 season and a third-place finish with Roma in the 2017/18 season, also reaching the Champions League semifinals 34 years after the last time.”
Di Francesco’s Frosinone were relegated to Serie B last season, while ex-Venezia coach Paolo Vanoli, who earned promotion to Serie A in 2023-24, was hired by Torino.
