Udinese have officially signed their first player of the 2023-24 campaign, securing Jordan Zemura as a free agent from Bournemouth.

The Serie A side announced the deal for the 23-year-old Zimbabwe international, who has six senior caps for his country.

Left-back Zemura was born and raised in London, playing his football for QPR and Charlton youth academies before moving to Bournemouth in 2019.

He has 22 competitive appearances for the Cherries so far this season, contributing one assist.

His contract with the Premier League side only runs to June 2023, so Zemura was allowed to negotiate a new deal with a different club and Udinese staged the swoop earlier than anyone else.

He tied himself to the Friulani until June 2027 and will finish off the current campaign in the Premier League.

Playing left-back or on the left side of a five-man midfield, Zemura is effectively the replacement for Destiny Udogie, who has already been sold to Tottenham Hotspur for €18m plus up to another €7m in bonuses.
