As expected, Udinese have officially signed striker Brenner Souza da Silva from FC Cincinnati and he will join the Serie A side from June 2023.

The negotiations had been at an advanced stage for several weeks and the deal was finally clinched this afternoon.

Brenner has signed a contract that will run from June 2023 to June 2028, so will play in Serie A from next season.

It is reported the transfer will cost approximately €9m plus bonuses.

Formerly of Sao Paulo and Fluminense, he was part of Brazil’s South American Under-17 Cup-winning squad in 2017 and FC Cincinnati paid €11.8m to sign Brenner in February 2021.

He made quite a splash in MLS, scoring 27 goals in 72 competitive matches, as well as providing seven assists.

Many are confident that Brenner has been brought in as a replacement for Beto, who is expected to be put on the market this summer by Udinese.
