Udinese have officially announced Gabriele Cioffi as their new interim coach, as the former assistant replaces Luca Gotti, who was sacked yesterday.

The Friuli sacked Gotti two years after the former assistant coach replaced Igor Tudor at the helm in Udine.

Cioffi has now taken a similar path and will be in charge of the first team on a temporary basis, as the club has confirmed he will oversee the match against Milan this weekend.

“Udinese Calcio announce that they have entrusted, ad interim, the technical guide of the first team to Gabriele Cioffi,” the club wrote in a statement.

“He will be in charge of the team against Milan. A big good luck to Gabriele Cioffi from all of Udinese Calcio.”
