Udinese have confirmed the signing of Pablo Marí on loan from Arsenal.

The Bianconeri have confirmed in an official statement that the 28-year-old moves to the Dacia Arena on a temporary deal until the end of the season.

Marí will return to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season as Udinese do not have an option to sign him permanently.

“I am proud and happy, I am looking forward to beginning this new adventure and giving my all for the Bianconeri shirt and the fans,” the defender wrote on Twitter.

Marì joined Arsenal from Flamengo in a €6m deal in July 2020 but has only played 22 games across all competitions with the Gunners.

Udinese sit 14th in the Serie A table, six points above the relegation zone.

They have conceded 36 goals in 22 league games this term and sacked their coach Luca Gotti in December, promoting his assistant Gabriele Cioffi.

Udinese were eliminated from the Coppa Italia earlier this week, losing 1-0 away at Lazio after extra time.

Marí could make his debut with the Serie A side on Saturday when Cioffi’s men visit Genoa at Marassi in a key clash for survival.
