Torino have made their first official signing of the 2023-24 season, bringing in Romanian goalkeeper Mihai Popa as a free agent.

The 22-year-old saw his contract run down with FC Voluntari and had been in agreement with the Granata for several weeks already.

Toro released a statement this afternoon confirming Popa had put pen to paper and will be available from July 1.

He has eight caps for Romania at Under-21 level and will be in the squad for the European Under-21 Championship that starts next week.

Romania and Georgia are the co-hosts of the competition, in a group with Croatia, Spain and Ukraine.
