Official: Torino sign Bellanova from Cagliari

Torino have officially signed Raoul Bellanova from Cagliari after Inter decided against activating his option to buy.

It was announced this evening by Toro President Urbano Cairo on Instagram.

“First signing on the transfer market: the young and promising Raoul Bellanova to Toro!”

The right-sided winger impressed during his loan spell at San Siro, making 22 competitive appearances including the Champions League Final against Manchester City.

Inter had paid €3m for the one-season loan and had an option to make the move permanent for a further €7m, but did not use it.

They were hoping to negotiate a cheaper deal, instead Torino dived in with a firm offer set at €7m plus €1m in add-ons.

It was reported that Bellanova had a medical today and then put pen to paper on the contract, which is believed to be four years plus an option to extend for a fifth.

He only turned 23 last month, but is already surprisingly well-travelled, starting out in the Milan youth academy and sold to Girondins de Bordeaux in January 2019.

He had loans at Atalanta, Pescara and Cagliari before making the move to Sardinia stick for €700,000 in 2022.
