Torino have officially purchased striker Pietro Pellegri from AS Monaco after his loan in a deal worth a reported €5m plus add-ons.

The 21-year-old had moved to Milan on loan last summer at a cost of €1m, then in January switched it to Toro.

A statement this evening confirms Pellegri is now a Torino player, with Sky Sport Italia reporting the transfer fee was €5m plus bonuses.

He started out in the Genoa youth academy, where his father was working as part of the staff, becoming the first player born in the 21st Century to score in one of the big five European Leagues in May 2017.

In the following season, Pellegri became the youngest player to score a Serie A brace, aged 16 years and 184 days.

This all earned a €21m move to Monaco in January 2018, but a series of injuries meant he never really made his mark and returned to Serie A in 2021.

He scored one goal in 15 Serie A games this term between Milan and Torino.
