“The team is in ritiro at Tirrenia after returning from Iceland. Yesterday the whole group had submitted to swabs tests that came back negative.”

The Azzurrini’s away game against Iceland was postponed earlier this week as two players and a member of the staff had tested positive upon their arrival in the country.

There are now seven players of the U-21 squad who are positive for Covid-19, plus a member of the staff.

Italy U-21 are due to face Ireland on Tuesday and Rai Sport reports the FIGC could decide to let the U-20 face the Irish. A decision will be taken on Monday.
