The FIGC has confirmed that there are three more cases of Coronavirus in Italy U-21 squad.

“Two players and a member of the staff of Italy U-21 team currently in Reykjavik for the Euro qualifier match against Iceland scheduled for tonight, have tested positive for Coronavirus after yesterday’s swab tests undergone upon our arrival at the airport,” the statement reads.

“One footballer has symptoms and is being constantly monitored by the medical staff of the National team. The other two have a lower viral load and have already had another swab to have further confirmation of the diagnosis.

“The whole group that arrived in Iceland yesterday had tested negative for Covid after three different swab tests in Italy.

“The FIGC promptly contacted UEFA and the local health authorities to evaluate the further steps that need to be taken. New information will be communicated in the coming hours.”

The likes of Alessandro Bastoni and Marco Carnesecchi had tested positive for Coronavirus earlier this week and didn’t travel to Iceland with the rest of the team.
