Bologna confirm the appointment of Thiago Motta as their new head coach.

The ex-Italy international replaces Sinisa Mihajlovic, who was sacked last week after collecting just three points in the opening five Serie A games.

The Rossoblu have now confirmed the appointment of the ex-Inter and Genoa midfielder who has signed a contract until June 2024.

“Bologna FC 1909 can confirm that Thiago Motta (São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, 28/08/1982) has been appointed as the Club’s new head coach,” the club said in an official statement.

The 2010 Champions League winner had arrived in Bologna over the weekend and watched his side beat Fiorentina 2-1 at the Stadio Dall’Ara under Primavera coach Luca Vigiani on Sunday.
