The new Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia has already hit problems, as the dates must change for Napoli–Fiorentina, Inter–Lazio and the Final, which had been scheduled for January 8.
The tournament had until now only been a one-off match between the winners of the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia holders.
However, it was expanded to a new Final Four format with semi-finals between Scudetto holders Napoli and Coppa Italia Finalists Fiorentina, plus Coppa victors Inter and Serie A runners-up Lazio.
The competition was meant to run from January 4 to January 8, 2024.
However, the Lega Serie A announced today that a request from the Saudi hosts forced them to bump the dates along, reportedly by circa 10 days.
The new dates will only be confirmed after a meeting on October 9.
