The Dutch international finally signed a four-year contract this afternoon, announced the Cottagers.
“I am very happy to be joining Fulham, and to have everything sorted out so early in the summer, so I can really focus on preparations for playing in the Barclays Premier League next season,” he told the official Fulham website.
The 30-year-old had already been on the verge of completing this transfer in January, but it collapsed when Roma could not find a replacement before the transfer deadline.
Stekelenburg spent two seasons at Roma, where he was dropped by Zdenek Zeman and brought back into the starting XI by Interim Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli.
