The Stadio della Roma project has finally been approved by the local council and related agencies and should be ready for 2020-21.
A meeting was held today with various different infrastructure agencies and directors comparing notes on the plans, which have been repeatedly revamped over the last few years.
The removal of two tower blocks, reduction of concrete spaces and the council agreeing to shoulder some of the financial burden of building a new bridge for the Tor di Valle area.

According to the plans approved today, the Stadio della Roma should be ready to open for the 2020-21 season.
“Great result for the city. OK to a modern and innovative project: less concrete and more greenery. Impulse for new jobs,” wrote Mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi on Twitter.
She then deleted the comment, as it had been released before the official confirmation of the all-clear.
