SPAL have confirmed the appointment of Daniele De Rossi as their new head coach, the ex-Roma midfielder has signed a contract until 2024.

The 2006 Italy World Cup winner officially begins his coaching career in Serie B where he will join other World Cup winners, such as Pippo Inzaghi, Fabio Grosso, Fabio Cannavaro and Gigi Buffon who still plays for Parma.

SPAL have confirmed his appointment with an official statement on their website, confirming that the Giallorossi legend has signed a contract until June 2024.

De Rossi was part of Roberto Mancini’s Italy staff as one of the CT’s assistants.

SPAL had sacked their coach Roberto Venturato on Monday after earning nine points in the first eight Serie B games this season.

  1. Serious conundrum though. Would Daniele in the future accept coaching Lazio?
    The soul tearing he would go through would be remade into an Oscar worthy drama!
