Martin Skrtel has officially signed for Atalanta as a free agent after three years in Turkey with Fenerbahce.
The 34-year-old landed in Bergamo this morning and underwent a medical, then signed a one-year contract believed to be worth €1m.
A Slovakia international, he brings valuable experience to Atalanta, who will participate in the Champions League for the first time in their history.

He is best known for his time at Liverpool, making over 300 appearances between 2008 and 2016.
Skrtel was the captain of Slovakia for many years, but announced his international retirement in February.
He has chosen Atalanta jersey number 37.
