Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi has suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament, so he will miss the upcoming Champions League match against Real Madrid while Alessandro Bastoni should be available.

Sensi was subbed off in the second half of yesterday’s clash against Sampdoria and underwent medical examinations this morning.

“Stefano Sensi had a scan on Monday morning following the injury he sustained to his right knee in Sunday’s match against Sampdoria. The scan revealed that Sensi has suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament,” Inter official statement read.

“Alessandro Bastoni also underwent tests, all of which came back clear.”

The Italian defender had missed the game at Marassi on Sunday but should be eligible to play against the La Liga giants on Wednesday.

Inter host Real Madrid at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in their opening Champions League match in two days.

The Serie A champions will be hoping to qualify for the Round of 16 for the first time in two years as, during Antonio Conte’s two-year spell at the club, they were eliminated in the group stage.
