Sassuolo have officially announced the signing of Avellino striker Marcello Trotta.
The 23-year-old spent much of his early career in England, representing Manchester City and Fulham, as well as having loan spells at Wycombe Wanderers, Watford, Brentford and Barnsley.
“US Sassuolo Calcio announces that it has completed the following transfer move: Marcello Trotta acquired outright from Avellino,” a statement on the Neroverdi’s website read.

“The new Neroverdi forward will be presented to the media on Thursday 21 January at 13.30 in the Press room of the Stadio Ricci.”
Trotta has three caps for the Italian Under-21 side, scoring three goals.
