Cristian Bucchi has been sacked as Coach of Sassuolo, freeing up former Palermo boss Beppe Iachini for the role.
The news was confirmed in a statement on Sassuolo’s official website after Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Verona left them without a home win in 2017-18.
The former Serie B hitman had big shoes to fill over the summer, replacing Roma-bound Eusebio Di Francesco.
However, nine defeats in 14 matches left the Neroverdi just a point above the relegation zone.

Reports suggest Iachini has agreed a two-year contract to succeed Bucchi, marking his first appointment since being sacked by Udinese last season.
The 40-year-old’s dismissal comes on the same day that Milan fired Vincenzo Montella.
