Sassuolo have completed a double purchase, bringing in Armand Laurientie from FC Lorient and Spezia forward Janis Antiste.

The Neroverdi needed to replenish their squad after selling Giacomo Raspadori to Napoli and Gianluca Scamacca to West Ham United this summer.

They made it a double deal the day before the transfer deadline.

Laurientie is a permanent transfer and had been in talks for a move to Torino for several weeks, but Sassuolo came in with a better offer, believed to be circa €12m including bonuses.

The 23-year-old is a wide striker, primarily on the right flank, who scored one goal already in three Ligue 1 appearances this season.

As for Antiste, he arrives from Spezia on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

He just turned 20 earlier this month and Spezia had signed him from Toulouse last summer for €4.6m.

That deal was done in conjunction with Sassuolo, so the move on towards the Mapei Stadium was always planned.

  1. I agree Gino, can’t even call the serie a an Italian league with so few Italian players, it’s no surprise why Italy failed to qualify for the World cup

  2. @gino + @carlo – you both keep saying buy italians, but like who ?
balotelli – no, moise kean = cmon no one wants kean – really poor.
Which 2 attacking italians should they have bought?

Cuz the reality is that italy didnt qualify was because they dont have any good forwards, look at belotti, immobile record for italy = terrible

You had 2 very good young italians – scamacca / raspodorri – but sold both
