Santos have announced the agreement of a transfer fee for Kaio Jorge to join Juventus and he’ll now fly out for a medical.

According to the latest reports out of Brazil, the deal was struck for €3m plus €1m in performance-related bonuses.

Santos will also retain five per cent of the profit from any future transfer fee if he is sold.

Sky Sport Italia claim Santos will have first refusal if Juve decide to loan Kaio Jorge back to South America.

“Juventus met the conditions we had set and which we believe are the best at this time for the club, given the scenario we found ourselves in,” said President Andres Rueda with a statement on the official Santos website.

“Good luck to Kaio Jorge and we hope he will have a great path going forward.”

The 19-year-old striker was only under contract with Santos until December 31, so he signed a pre-contract agreement with Juve.

This left Santos forced to either let him leave for free, or negotiate a minimal transfer fee that would release the player this summer.

They opted for the latter and Kaio Jorge is expected to be in Italy for a medical by Wednesday or Thursday.

Milan and Benfica had also been in talks, but the Bianconeri secured the all-important paperwork.
