Sampdoria have officially completed the signing of England U21 international Ronaldo Vieira from Leeds United.

The 20-year-old midfielder joins the Blucerchiati for a fee reported to be around €7m.

He has put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract at Marassi.

Born in the African country of Guinea-Bissau, Vieira moved to Portugal as a child and was a part of Benfica’s youth system.

His family then moved to Yorkshire, with the youngster siging for the Leeds academy after impressing during a trial.

He enjoyed two seasons as a regular for the English Championship club, during which time he established himself as an England U21 international.

And having been part of the England U21 squad’s victorious Toulon Tournament campaign earlier this year, Vieira now completes a transfer to Italian football’s top flight.
