Sampdoria midfielder Albin Ekdal has renewed with the Blucerchiati until June 2022.
The Swede has played 17 games in Serie A this term and continues to be an important asset in Liguria.
Ekdal turned 31 in July and arrived from Hamburger SV in August 2018 and has previous stints with Juventus, Siena, Bologna and Cagliari in Italy.

“President Massimo Ferrero and UC Sampdoria announce that they have triggered the option to extend the contract relating to the rights to sports performances of the player Albin Ekdal,” the club wrote in a statement.
“To everyone’s satisfaction, the midfielder – 84 appearances and two goals with our shirt – joined Sampdoria until June 30, 2022.”
