Salernitana have sacked Stefano Colantuono and Davide Nicola appears to be the favourite to take over at the Stadio Arechi.
The Granata confirmed Colantuono’s dismissal with an official statement published on their website this morning. Colantuono’s assistant Gianfranco Cinello and match analyst Sandro Antonini were also relieved of their duties.
According to multiple reports in Italy, Davide Nicola is the favourite to take over at the Stadio Arechi, although former Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo also held talks with the Serie A strugglers.
According to Calciomercato.com, Fabrizio Castori remains an option as the 67-year-old is still under contract with the club after his sacking in October.
