Roma have officially sent striker Eldor Shomurodov to Cagliari on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for a total €10m.
The transfer had been agreed over the last few days and pen was put to paper this evening.
A statement from the club confirms that it is a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Reports from Sky Sport Italia suggest Cagliari are paying €1m for the one-year loan and covering 50 per cent of his salary during this season too.
The option to make the move permanent in June 2024 has been set at a further €9m.
Shomurodov is a 28-year-old centre-forward from Uzbekistan who shot to fame at Genoa in 2020-21.
At the end of that campaign, he joined Roma for €18m, but struggled to replicate that form, including during a loan at Spezia from January to June 2023.
He scored only six goals and provided six assists in 48 competitive appearances for Roma.
