As expected, Roma have announced a deal to sell Benjamin Tahirovic to Ajax and it is reported they will pocket €8.5m plus a percentage of the sell-on fee.

The midfielder only turned 20 in March and already has three senior caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was reported earlier today that an agreement with Ajax was imminent, despite interest from Olympique Marseille, Genoa, Sassuolo and Salernitana.

That was confirmed with a statement on the official club website, noting the transfer is pending a medical.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma have worked out the terms that will bring them €8.5m from the sale, including various performance-related bonuses.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim it is €5m plus bonuses, including the sell-on fee.

The Giallorossi are also investing in Tahirovic’s future with a 15 per cent cut of any sell-on fee.

He was born and raised in Sweden, making the move from Vasalunds to the Roma academy for just €204,000 in February 2021.

Tahirovic was promoted to the senior squad by Jose Mourinho, making 11 Serie A appearances and two in the Coppa Italia this season.
